An AI future?

I facilitated a session at the June 6th meeting of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and Mathematical Association Joint Primary Expert Group at the Royal Society on “An AI Future? Preparing learners and teachers with primary assessment tweaks.”

In it I argued for a learning-by-doing model for mathematics education, emphasizing research, discovery, and not yet seen problem-solving over instruct and perform methods.

Teacher professional learning is enhanced by concepts from conceptual mathematics supported by type inference in the functional programming language Haskell.

Teachers and learners role play the architecture of generative AI.
